Capt Blast

I am Capt. Blast and I am a mutant Energy/Energy Blaster. In the old days I would have been afraid to say I was a mutant. But now a days mutants aren’t that rare, maybe it is due to the “hole” in the ozone or because what Charles Xavier has done for mutant kind that more are coming forward. Well, like I said, I am a mutant blaster and how I discovered my powers probably isn’t too different from how many other Heroes found theirs, mine was through fear and loss of my best friend, Mike.

While going to school Paul Jones (not yet Capt. Blast) and his best friend Mike, were going through the back alleys of Skyway, to get to school a little faster because as usual they were late. Paul knew this to be dangerous because of the Trolls that liked to hang out in the alleys but Mike convinced him they'd be ok. They were almost to school when they rounded a corner and ran into a big group of Trolls. Mike, being a bit faster then Paul, was ahead of him so he ran into them first. The Trolls at first were surprised to see a little human in their area, but that soon changed. They picked up Mike and started to tease and taunt him. Shaking him violently and asking him how he dared to enter their territory in their weird Troll speak. Paul, not having caught their attention yet, slowly backed away thinking he could run for help. Not getting more then a few steps before he herd Mike scream out in agony Turning he saw Mike being slammed to the ground, by the biggest Troll he has ever seen. Forgetting about help he leaped at the Troll but being a small kid he was easily snatch up by a Troll and he watch in horror as the big Troll swung Mike around and bashed him against what ever he could. Now Paul was extremely scared and the fear and panic grew inside of him until it was release from his body in a big, energy blast. This great blast (which Paul would later come to name it his Nova Blast) killed all the Trolls and left him unconscious. Paul woke up in the hospital finding himself unharmed but his best friend dead. When the police question Paul on what happened, he lied and said he didn't remember. He was afraid he would be sent to jail or worse to some lab for experimentations if he told the truth.

It took Paul years to get over the tragic death of his friend, but it pushed him to explored his mutant talents which he found out was the ability to control energy. He built a special visor and gauntlets to help him control his talent better and taking the name Capt. Blast he the streets of Paragon City to defend the people and to defeat the evil that lurks in it. He founded the Super Group The Avenging Heroes , and still leads them today.
